Volotea is a Spanish low cost airline founded in 2011 and operational since April 5, 2012. The corporate headquarters is located in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Volotea was created by the founders of Vueling, Carlos Muñoz and Lázaro Ros. Volotea operates on a large number of European destinations, with a strong focus on Spain, Italy and France. Its main operational base is the airport of Venice Marco Polo (iata VCE), the secondary bases are located on the airports of Ibiza (iata IBZ) and Nantes Atlantique (iata NTE).
Volotea flies to a number of scheduled European destinations on a summer seasonal, winter seasonal and year-round basis. It also operates a small number of charter flights on behalf of tour operators.
